Sit down – the queens have their say. And if you’re drunk? Go home!

At the 56th annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson brought girl power with their performance of “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

The three stars took to the stage and sang – in coordinating denim outfits – the song about a love interest who was too drunk – and telling them to get lost!

“You’re drunk, go home/If you’re trying to hook up/You gotta do it alone,” they sang. “The way you trip and the way you trip/There’s no way you’re getting my number.”

“You’re Drunk, Go Home” was included on Ballerini’s album SUBJECT TO CHANGESwhich was released in September.

At the time, she spoke to PEOPLE about the “beauty” and “mess” in her soul that inspired the record.

“It’s really my post-pandemic project. Like everyone else in the world, I’ve been forced to sit still and I’m not good at it,” the singer, 29, said at the time. “I like to be full speed all the time, working and playing shows and making records. And that wasn’t an option. That’s when I woke up and said, ‘Oh, I’m not 19 anymore.’ This is strange.’ And I have a lot of life to process and a lot of time to do it.”

He continued: “I think in that revelation of all these beautiful, amazing experiences that I’ve had over the years in my career and my personal life… it really unlocked that honesty and more than honesty, the guts to go out there with some ways. And I think that resonates throughout the play.”

Following its release, Ballerini – who recently reached a settlement agreement with estranged husband Morgan Evans in their divorce – embarked on a 10-night Heartfirst Tour.

On September 30, Ballerini appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and the “Breakaway” singer, 40, hilariously opened up about her situation while recording the song.

“I arrive at the studio here together [music director] Jason [Halbert], and I walk in there and I’m like, ‘Look, I didn’t know I was going to sing today,'” Clarkson recalled. “I didn’t know! … So I had to sing a song called ‘You’re drunk, go home’ drunk, trying to sing the first soprano parts like ‘I’m fine!'”

Clarkson also insisted it doesn’t happen often: “That’s never happened to me in 20 years!” he said. “I have never, ever been drunk while singing anything. And [now] I’m while singing “you’re drunk, go home.”

Meanwhile, Pearce, 32 – who won female vocalist at last year’s awards show and took home music event of the year on Wednesday – recently performed her first sold-out concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

“I’ll probably be saying this all night,” she told her sold-out crowd, “but all my country music dreams are coming true tonight.”

The 2022 CMAs air live Wednesday night from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
