Johnny Depp has yet to land a major Hollywood role since his court victory earlier this year, but he has garnered a lot of support in the industry. Rihanna enlisted it Pirates of the Caribbean star to walk in her highly anticipated fashion show Savage X Fenty Vol. 4. The actor’s look is similar to Cindy Crawford’s intense look in 2021 Savage X Fenty showcase — just not as controversial.

Depp’s appearance came halfway through the star-studded event, which just hit Prime Video. Dressed in one of Rihanna’s latest Savage X Fenty lounge styles, the actor belts out OutKast’s “So Fresh, So Clean.” He gives the camera a few smiles, surely knowing this casting is a big deal. After all, with Rihanna — one of the biggest stars on the planet just appearing for the Super Bowl halftime show — at his side is big issue.

News of Depp’s appearance leaked last week and was met with some backlash. The 59-year-old Hollywood Vampires rocker is still a divisive figure in the entertainment industry despite winning his defamation case against Amber Heard. Actor Olly Alexander, who collaborated with Savage X Fenty on a social media campaign earlier this year, said he “will no longer wear” the brand. Others followed suit with some fans hoping she wouldn’t make the final cut.

Naturally, Depp’s fans were ecstatic at the news of the actor’s inclusion. This fashion show is the actor’s most popular look to date since this year’s trial.

Heard publicly accused Depp of physical and sexual abuse throughout their five-year relationship. However, a Virginia court ruled that he never abused her, not once, in their verdict. The ruling contrasts with a 2020 ruling in London, when a judge found it “substantially true” that Depp abused his ex-wife. In June, Heard won one of her three counts with a jury finding she defamed herself through Depp’s attorney. Both Heard and Depp have appealed the decision on different grounds.

Rihanna is far from the only celebrity to support Depp. Kate Moss supported her ex-boyfriend, even testifying at the trial. Winona Ryder also spoke out in support of her ex-fiancé. While likes aren’t necessarily endorsements, a number of stars cheered Depp’s statement on Instagram after he was awarded more than $10 million in damages. Jennifer Aniston, Jason Momoa and Zoe Saldana were among the celebrities who double-clicked the post.
